Jews for Racial and Economic Justice host an annual celebration to mark the Jewish holiday of Purim. But this isn’t your traditional “shpil.” Artists, musicians, activists and many others come together for a wild night of storytelling, singing and dancing to share the tale of Purim and relate it to modern day issues. It’s hard for parents to get their kids to exercise when they’re competing with tv shows, video games and the internet. However, a New York City Parks program has found a powerful antidote: tennis. And they provide it to the city’s kids for free.
